The “GOLES” nine-hole golf league was founded in 2009 by two avid golfers, one of whom is a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton (ES) parish and the other is from Our Lady of Mount Carmel (OLMC). The cornerstones of this new league are camaraderie, good fellowship and enjoyable golf under a well structured, but flexible program. This league now encompasses four parishes.

The acronym “GOLES” comes from “G” for Goretti, “OL” from Our Lady of Mount Carmel and Our Lady of Grace and the “ES” from Elizabeth Seton. This league serves the golfers of these four Hamilton County Catholic parishes, but also welcomes, friends, neighbors and work associates. This league has grown to about 75 members, but there is still room for more players. The league play is on Monday evenings, with tee times between 4:30 and 6:00 PM.

GOLES has a detailed set of by-laws to ensure consistency and fairness as well as guidelines for decorum and local golf rules. Players of all skill levels participate. Four Flights (A, B, C and D) are used to keep all players competitive and in contention for prize money. Data from previous seasons indicate that approximately 80% of the players receive prize money at some point. A modified USGA handicap system is used.

The Pebble Brook Golf Club welcomes the GOLES golf league and they serve up some great after-round refreshments in their Grille Room.
